The Capital Grille is at 201 North Tryon Street, inside the Fifth Third Center, on the Fourth Ward side of Tryon. Discovery Place Science and the Charlotte Marriott City Center are its neighbors on the same side of the street. Friends of Fourth Ward, the neighborhood association, describes Fourth Ward as bordered by the Tryon Street business district, Trade Street, 11th Street and Elmwood Cemetery, which puts the restaurant on the neighborhood's eastern edge.

Concept. The Capital Grille is a fine-dining steakhouse owned by Darden, known for dry-aged steaks and fresh seafood. The Charlotte room lists more than 325 wines, offers private dining and large-party seating, and takes reservations through its site.
Why it is in a neighborhood publication. A chain steakhouse can seem out of place in a neighborhood guide. It belongs here for two reasons. Fourth Ward residents do not have to cross a street to reach it; it is on their side of Tryon. And the Fifth Third Center is part of why the eastern edge of Fourth Ward feels the way it does: a wall of Uptown commerce that the residential blocks to the west look out at. A guide to Fourth Ward that leaves the building out does not describe the neighborhood as it is.
