Stop 8 — Morrison-Lawry House
Address: 519 North Pine Street Year built: 1900s Style: Queen Anne
The Morrison-Lawry House at 519 North Pine Street is a 1900s Queen Anne that originally faced Graham Street before being moved to its current Pine Street location during the 1970s restoration wave.
Per Friends of Fourth Ward, the house is notable for its variety of etched and stained window shapes, and as an example of balloon framing — one of the earliest forms of mass-production residential construction. A storage closet inside the house was built for the annual storage of apples, and FOFW reports that the apple smell persists.
